  • Dear colleagues,

we invite you to take part in the 1st International Conference
“Lakes of Eurasia: Problems and Solutions”

    PETROZAVODSK, SEPTEMBER 11-15, 2017

    Important information
The organizing committee of the 1st International Conference “Lakes of Eurasia: Problems and Solutions” prolongs the date of online registration until March 31, 2017 and accepting submissions for publication Until April 15, 2017

The Eurasian integration project cannot proceed unless attention is paid to environmental matters in the territory, especially its waters, including objects such as the world’s biggest lake – the Caspian Sea, deepest lake – Baikal, European great lakes Ladoga and Onego, as well as those of cross-border significance, such as Saimaa, and many others.

A balanced international development of Eurasia today requires that basic problems are studied and practical challenges are addressed in close collaboration of scientists from many countries.

The key mission of the first conference “Lakes of Eurasia: Problems and Solutions” is to establish a platform for discussion of major basic and applied problems of relevance for the numerous waterbodies of Eurasia, keeping in mind their transboundary significance.

An integral part of the event is the young scientists’ workshop, where new international scientific networks and border-breaking new-generation smart online labs will be established.

The conference proceedings will be posted on NWPI KarRC RAS website and published in a volume registered at RSCI.
Conference participants will be offered limitless possibilities to get acquainted with the Republic of Karelia through excursions and field trips (the conference is co-organized by Karelika travel company).
