Doctoral School is a form of training scientists within the post-university professional education system.
As of 01.01.2012, KarRC of RAS had 61 doctoral students (56 full-time, 5 – part-time). Highly qualified specialists act as their scientific supervisors.
Scientific institutions of the Karelian Research Centre are now licensed to train doctoral students in 29 scientific specializations.
Admission is competition-based. Eligible candidates are citizens of the Russian Federation with documented university-level specialist or master degrees. The studies can be on either the full-time or the part-time basis. To take the entrance exams and prepare the doctoral thesis individuals with complete higher education can be assigned to the doctoral school as doctoral degree seekers.
The threshold admission numbers for full-time studies at the KarRC of RAS Doctoral School are subject to annual approval by the RAS Presidium. Full-time students admitted within the federal budget funded limits study free of charge. Extra-limit full-time students, part-time students and degree seekers pay for the training according to the contracts drawn up with individuals or legal entities.
Enrolment begins on November 1st, current year.
