Curriculum Vitae:
Born on December 22, 1949 in Petrozavodsk. In 1972 graduated from Department of Biology, Petrozavodsk State University. In 1972-1975 took a post-graduate course in "Plant physiology" in Karelian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1976 defended the Candidate (PhD) thesis entitled "Morphophysiological control in meadow fescue (Festuca pratensis Huds.) selection for frost resistance", In 1989 defended Doctor of Science thesis on the subject "Resistance of actively vegetating plants to low and high temperatures: variation patterns and mechanisms".
