Proceedings of International Symposium (Petrozavodsk: August 30 – September 2, 2005). Petrozavodsk, 2006. Pp. 231-243
Vegetation of the eutrophic fens was studied and their classification using floristic approach was proposed. Eutrophic fens vegetation of the Europian Russia has marked differences from that in Central and North Europe. Plant communities of the eutrophic fens have their specific floristic composition, as compared with their western analogues. European spring fen vegetation is represented by communities of the order Caricion davallianae. On the Russian spring fens such vegetation can be found only near the western border. Vegetation of Russian spring fens consist from communities which we consider as separate alliance Bistorto-Caricion diandrae all. nov. To our mind this alliance is included to order Sphagno warnstorfiani-Tomentypnietalia nitentis Dahl 1956. This order includes 3 allinces. Bistorto-Caricion diandrae includes the vegetation of rich fens of European Russia. The second - vegetation of rich fens mountain regions of Central Europe, the third - vegetation of rich fens Scandinavian countries.
