The article deals with the institutional problems occurring in development of the tourist destinations at the municipal level. The main results of the TASIC project based on the data on the results of the economic-sociological investigation in households and enterprises of the Muezersky district are examined. The analysis of the scientific discussion between participants of the round table on the issues of the tourist destinations taking place in the course of the international scientific-practical conference «The Role of Tourism in Modernization of the Economy of Russian Regions» is given hereby.
